If you have not made chicken burgers yet, you are missing out. They are juicy and have a delicious kick from the chipotle lime both in the burger and on top. We eat this burger with no bun, but you can always add one if you want to. We always pair these burgers with a little side salad to complete the meal! You can grill the burgers or cook them inside. Grilling is always preferred though!
There is something special about a meat all packed together to make a burger. No matter what kind it is, there is something so comforting about a juicy burger. That was the idea with this burger recipe. I wanted the mild chicken flavor to be complimented by the spicy, acidic chipotle lime flavoring, and oh my goodness, it was spot on.
I love having weeknight meals during the week that are light, but at the same time so filling. This recipe is that recipe. It is so filling but also doesn't make you feel like you over ate in any way.
This recipe is completely gluten free, dairy free, paleo and whole 30 compliant! Definitely a no guilt recipe.
Ingredients:
- ground chicken
- coconut flour
- egg
- coconut aminos
- Primal Kitchen Chipotle Lime Mayonnaise
- garlic powder
- salt and pepper
Kitchen Appliances:
- grill frying pan (if cooking indoors)
- grill (if cooking outside)
The Steps:
This recipe is extremely easy to throw together. To start, all you have to do is combine all of the ingredients and mix together with your hands. After that, form the patties with your hands. You should get about eight patties out of this mixture.
Cook the burgers either on the grill or on a grill pan inside. I always top my burger with a little more of the chipotle lime mayo. You also can eat it on a bun if you choose to, we usually skip that part during the week though! It is just as delicious without it!
Can I use a different meat besides chicken?
Absolutely! The Chipotle Lime Mayo is so versatile, you could really pair it with any ground meat and it would be delicious! Chicken is definitely more mild and I feel it really shines through in the burger so this is why I chose chicken. Ground turkey is also very mild so it would shine through with that meat as well.
Why do you use coconut flour?
I use coconut flour to replace bread crumbs that you would have in a typical burger recipe to use as a binder but also keep the recipe gluten free. This, along with the egg, helps keep the burger from drying out and crimbling.
