Caramelized Onion and Chive Dip

Caramelized onion and chive dip is made with deliciously caramelized yellow onions cooked in olive oil, a creamy base and chives.

Ingredients:  yellow or white onions unsalted butter sugar sour cream mayonnaise garlic powder worcestershire sauce chives kosher salt and black pepper

The Steps:

Step 1: Caramelizing onions takes about an hour so you will need a little patience. About 30 minutes in, sprinkle the sugar over the onions and mix it in. This will help with the caramelization process.

Step 2: Make sure you are stirring constantly because you don't want the onions on the bottom to burn. Cook the onions on medium-low heat until they turn a golden brown color.

Step 3: Once the onions are done, mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, worcestershire sauce, chopped chives and salt and pepper.

Step 4: Add in the onions and mix. Serve with potato chips and garnish with extra chives or green onions.

This easy recipe is always a huge hit and perfect when served with potato chips, pita chips or bagel chips.
