Juicy, crispy, charred Italian sausage grillers that are grilled to perfection, caramelized onions all inside of a toasted potato bun to create the most simple, flavorful weeknight grilling meal. This recipe is perfect when paired with almost any sauce!
While that is heating up, slice your onions and add them to a frying pan with butter. Make sure you are checking on these and stirring them often while grilling so they do not burn. You can always cook them ahead of time as well and cover them to keep them hot.
Add grillers to the grill.
Cook, flipping every 5 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. This usually takes about 20 minutes.
When the grillers are nearing their internal temperature, add the potato buns to the top part of the grill for about 5 minutes or until they get toasted to your preference.
Remove everything from the grill, add the grillers to the buns and top with onions. Add any sauce you desire.

Save cooked grillers and onions in an air tight container for up to 1 week.
