Crispy Fried Bang Bang Shrimp with Ranch

Crispy breaded shrimp deep fried to perfection tossed in a spicy, creamy bang bang sauce dipped in creamy ranch to cool the flavors down perfectly.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 eggs whisked
  • 1 cup Frank's Red Hot Sauce
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sweet chili sauce
  • peanut oil for frying
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning

Instructions

  • Thaw the shrimp and peel completely.  Place the shrimp on a paper towel and cover with another, apply light pressure until shrimp are completely dry.
  • Preheat your oil to 350 degrees in the deep fryer. 
  • On a plate, mix flour, corn starch, garlic powder salt and pepper.
  • Whisk the eggs in a bowl.
  • Dip a shrimp in the egg and then transfer to the flour mixture covering completely.  Set aside. Complete this step until all of the shrimp are coated.
  • Drop the shrimp one by one into the oil.  Cook about 3-4 minutes, flip and then cook another 3-4 minutes.  Repeat until all shrimp are fried. 
  • In a bowl, mix together Frank's red hot sauce, sweet chili sauce and mayonnaise.
  • Toss the shrimp in the sauce and plate. 
  • Mix together sour cream and ranch seasoning.  Serve with shrimp.
