Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella Recipe with Fresh Basil

Equipment

  • 1 sharp knife and cutting board
  • 1 serving platter

Ingredients

  • 8 oz mozzarella
  • 12 slices prosciutto
  • 12 basil leaves approximately depending on size
  • balsamic glaze to drizzle

Instructions

  • Slice the mozzarella cheese into ½ inch strips. Slice each strip into thirds.
  • Cut the prosciutto slices in half.
  • Place the slice of prosciutto on a flat surface. Add a piece of mozzarella to the end of the slice of prosciutto. Add a small basil leaf and a little drizzle of balsamic glaze on top of the mozzarella.
  • Wrap the prosciutto around the mozzarella, basil and balsamic glaze tightly. Serve immediately or save for later. Add a light drizzle of balsamic glaze on top of the dish prior to serving.

Notes

  • save leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • no reheating is required when serving leftovers.
  • only use fresh basil.
  • thicker slices of prosciutto make wrapping the mozzarella an easier process.
