Equipment

  • 1 oven safe frying pan
  • 1 Meat Thermometer
  • 1 sharp bread knife
  • 1 sharp knife and cutting board
  • 1 small bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 ribeye steak
  • 1 French baguette
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoon horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon chives chopped
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • olive oil to drizzle over crostini

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice French baguette on a diagonal and place on a baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil on both sides of the bread.
  • Mix horseradish sauce and chop chives.
  • Coat ribeye steak with olive oil and season generously with seasoning of choice.
  • Put bread in the oven. Bake about 5-8 minutes or until lightly toasted and crispy.
  • Heat a little olive oil in a oven safe frying pan on the stove on medium-high heat. Place steak in the pan. Sear 3-5 minutes. Flip steak. Sear another 3-5 minutes. Add butter and garlic to the pan and baste steak while searing. Transfer frying pan in the oven until steak reaches an internal temperature of 120 degrees.
  • Remove steak and bread from oven. Place steak on a platter to rest for 10 minutes. Slice steak against the grain. Slice the longer slices in half so they will fit on the crostini.
  • Assemble the crostini by spreading horseradish sauce on each slice of bread. Add steak on top of horseradish sauce. Sprinkle chives over crostini. Serve immediately or save for later.
