Equipment

  • 1 sharp knife and cutting board
  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs
  • 4 puff pastry sheets
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and add parchment paper to a baking sheet. Slice cheddar cheese into ½ inch thick slices. Whisk the eggs together. Prep any toppings.
  • Place a slice of cheese on the parchment paper. Place a hot dog on top of the cheese.
  • Remove the package of puff pastry from the freezer. Cut the puff pastry sheets into 3 equal pieces in the shape of a rectangle making sure that the pieces are longer than the length of the hot dogs.
  • Cover the hot dogs with the puff pastry sheets, gently pressing down along the sides to form the pastry sheet around the hot dog. Baste the tops of the puff pastry with the egg wash.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the sheet pan. Top with toppings and condiments of choice. Serve immediately or save for later.

Notes

  • add toppings of choice.
  • save leftovers in the fridge for up to 3-5 days.
  • reheat before serving leftovers.
  • slightly thaw puff pastry to make it easier to work with but make sure it is still cold when going in to the oven.
