Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Crostini is one of the most delicious, simple to make hors d'oeuvres to ever exist. The lightly toasted bread with soft, tangy cream cheese, cold smoked salmon and some salty capers on top complete the perfect marriage of flavors. This is definitely a great way to wow your guests at your next dinner party!
I have always been a huge fan of the hors d'oeuvres category. Especially when it comes to adorable crostini. They are always tasty and include one of my favorite ingredients of all time, bread. The fun thing about these too is that you can customize them a little to fit your own wants.
I have a few ideas up my sleeve that I know would go amazing with these. You could switch capers for a few sprinkles of deliciously fresh chopped dill. Or, you could replace the plain cream cheese with everything bagel cream cheese (I think I'm onto something here). The options are endless when it comes to a delicious crostini recipe such as this one.
- french bread
- cream cheese
- cold smoked salmon (lox)
Slice the bread on a diagonal and coat each slice with butter on both sides. Place in the frying pan and toast. Once toasted, flip the piece of bread over and toast the other side. Once toasted, spread the cream cheese on one side of the bread. Place a slice of two of salmon on top of the cream cheese and top with capers if desired.
What if I don't like capers?
No worries! You can completely omit them! If you want to replace them, fresh dill would be a great option! You could also add some everything bagel seasoning for a little extra fun!
