I live for football Sunday this time of year and in our home, one of our main focuses is what is on the menu! This tasty treat we made for the first game of the season this year and oh my goodness we were blown away with all of the flavors! We used fresh veggies that we still have leftover from our garden and they paired so nicely for this salsa!

The Steps to make Roasted Tomatillo Mild Salsa:
- Peel your tomatillos.ย On a stove or over a flame, roast your tomatillos until they are blistered.ย If you do not have a way to blister them, bake them at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
- Cut all of your larger veggies (onions, bell peppers, etc.) into fourths so that they can fit in the food processor.ย
- Add in the onion, bell pepper, cayenne peppers, tomatillos, banana pepper, jalapenos, and cilantro.ย
- Pulse the food processor 6-10 times until you have a chopped texture.ย Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
The difference between pulsing and pureeing.
It is very important that you know how to use your food processor in order to get the most desired results. When you pulse your food processor, you press down on the start button for a second or two at a time just enough for the veggies inside to slightly chop. When you puree, you press down on the start button for an extended amount of time creating more of a liquid consistency. Both are delicious for salsas, it just depends on the texture you desire!
