Jalapeno Popper Dip with Breadcrumbs is a delicious, creamy cream cheese based dip with fresh jalapenos and a delicious butter, parmesan cheese and breadcrumb mixture on top. This Jalapeno popper dip is the perfect appetizer for parties, football Sundays and also makes for a perfect appetizer to enjoy around the holidays.
Jalapeno Popper Dip is actually one of the first dip recipes I ever made. It is the recipe that really helped me start to get my bearings when it came to dips and helped me perfect that creamy texture that is so necessary in a good cheese based baked dip. Popper dip not only provides the perfect creaminess, but it also really highlights the delicious flavor of a fresh jalapeno.
This dip actually also kinda helped me get over my fear of all things spicy. Spicy was not at all my thing prior to this dip. Now I am still not a fan of too much heat, but I have learned that the heat you get from jalapenos can actually be super inviting and delicious! The jalapeno is the true star of this dish and it sure does deserve to be.

Kitchen Appliances:
The Steps to make Jalapeno Popper Dip with Breadcrumbs:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Dice the jalapeรฑos.
- In a bowl, combine and mix jalapenos, cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, cheddar cheese, Monterrey Jack cheese, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Spread mixture in a casserole dish.
- Melt butter. Add in bread crumbs and parmesan cheese and mix with a spoon. Spread the bread crumb mixture evenly on top of the dip.
- Bake 25-27 minutes and serve immediately with crackers of your choice.
Ingredient Substitutions:
Jalapenos:
You have the option to sub out fresh jalapenos for canned jalapenos or canned green chilis. This might add a little more of a kick to your dip since often when canned, the peppers become more concentrated. If you really want to add some kick to your dip, you can add both fresh and canned jalapenos. I have done that before and it is definitely delicious!
Sour Cream:
If you don't have sour cream, or don't want to add it, you can replace this with more mayonnaise. Still add the mayonnaise that is already in the recipe, but you can replace the portion of the sour cream at a 1:1 ratio.
