Ingredients
This recipe uses savory buttery Hawaiian slider rolls as the base of the sliders. Sweet Hawaiian rolls can also be used. Typical ingredients you would find on a pepperoni pizza make up the filling. Pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella and pepperoni are all vital to get the delicious pizza flavor that is signature on a pepperoni pizza.
Garlic butter along with fresh grated parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of oregano is added to the top of the rolls.

See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions

- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grate mozzarella cheese.

- Step 2: Slice the slider buns in half. Spread pizza sauce on the bottom bun. Spread mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Add pepperoni slices on top of the mozzarella.

- Step 3: Put top bun on top of pepperoni to close the sliders. Melt butter in a small bowl. Crush garlic into butter. Baste on top of rolls. Grate fresh parmesan directly on top of melted butter. Cover with tin foil.

- Step 4: Bake 15-20 minutes or until cheese in the center has melted. Sprinkle oregano on top after removing from the oven. Serve immediately or save for later.
Hint: use fresh grated mozzarella and parmesan instead of the pre shredded mozzarella. The pre shredded mozzarella and parm has a film on it to preserve it which keeps the cheese from melting evenly. Using fresh grated mozzarella and parmesan will help the cheese melt evenly.
Substitutions
- Slider Rolls - use gluten free slider buns instead of white bread slider buns to make this gluten free
- Vegetarian - omit the pepperoni for a vegetarian friendly version
- Garlic - use garlic powder instead of fresh garlic if preferred
Variations
- Hot Honey - drizzle hot honey over the pepperoni layer for added flavor that compliments pepperoni pizza flavors
- Philly Cheesesteak Sliders - add cheesesteak meat and onions for a Philly cheesesteak slider
- Meat lovers - add Italian sausage, bacon and ham in addition to the pepperoni for a meat lovers version

Equipment
To make these cheesy pizza sliders you will need a medium casserole dish or baking sheet to bake the sliders on. A cheese grater is needed to grate the mozzarella and parmesan. A garlic press and basting brush are also needed to create and apply the butter on top of the buns.
How to Store Pepperoni Pizza Sliders
Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the fridge. Good for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven or in the air fryer before serving.
These ingredients do stand up well to freezing for up to 2 months.
Top Tip
For a crispy slider bun, uncover the slider rolls when there is 5 minutes left on the baking time. This will give a little golden brown toast on the tops of the rolls. If you leave the sliders covered, you will get a soft Hawaiian rolls texture.
FAQ
Using freshly grated cheese as well as leaving the sliders covered while baking will help you get a gooey cheese result throughout the Hawaiian roll pizza sliders.
Yes, to make this recipe vegan, use vegan cheese, vegan slices of pepperoni and vegan butter.
Italian seasoning has a very similar profile since it has oregano in it and is a classic compliment to pizza flavors.
