Summer may be nearing its end, but it isn't over yet. Why not enjoy the last few weeks with a summery cocktail? A Tequila Sunrise is the perfect summer cocktail. It is sweet, fruity and down right beautiful to look at. The way the color fades from a red to a light orange is just amazing. I mean come on, look at it! Not to mention the delicious orange slice used as a garnish! Literally perfection.
If there is one thing I love, it is a fruity cocktail. I am the stereotypical girl when it comes to girly drinks because I absolutely love them. I am all for sitting on the beach or by the pool sipping on one of these tasty treats! The best part about a cocktail like this is that it really is an easier one to make and only requires 3 simple ingredients!
I am very fortunate to have a fiancé who used to be a bartender so I always need to give him credit when I make and post cocktail recipes because he usually coaches me along. When you become a bartender, you have to take all of these classes to get certified and you really learn the ropes of making some of the tastiest cocktails in the game.
My man makes one of the best long island iced teas I have ever had (my favorite cocktail). That one just might have to find its way to the blog at some point!
Ingredients:
- Silver Tequila
- Orange Juice
- Grenadine
Kitchen Appliances:
The Steps:
To start, measure out 1 ounce of silver tequila and pour it into the shaker with some ice. Add in the orange juice, put the lid on tight and shake. Pour the contents into your class leaving about ½ an inch at the top of the glass.
Place the opening of the bottle of grenadine on the rim and slowly pour the grenadine into the glass down the side. The grenadine will sink to the bottom giving you that sunrise look. Garnish your drink and enjoy!
Can I substitute tequila for anything?
Yes, although it technically won't be a tequila sunrise if you do! If I were to sub it out with anything I would do vodka. This drink will then be more of a screwdriver, but you can add the grenadine in still to add a little extra color! The grenadine does not add a ton of flavoring so it will definitely resemble the flavor of a screwdriver in this case.
