Bacon Deviled Eggs. Hardboiled eggs filled with a creamy yolk deviled egg filling with crispy, salty bacon mixed in. Oh my delicious! Bacon in deviled eggs is the exact extra flavor that I didn't know these little treats needed! It adds so much extra flavor that compliments an original deviled egg so well.
Deviled eggs were always something I looked forward to at family parties growing up. My parents never made them, so I had to wait until we went to parties at my Aunt and Uncles'. As soon as those deviled eggs met my eyes, they were basically gone. I just could never help myself and quite frankly, I still can't.
Now add in the bacon and all the sudden my childhood favorite recipe tastes even better! Basically all I did was combine one of my favorite recipes with one of my favorite ingredients and it was probably the best thing I have ever done, hands down.
Ingredients:
- eggs
- mayonnaise
- yellow mustard
- sweet relish
- salt
- bacon
Kitchen Appliances:
The Steps:
Fill a boiling pot with about 6-8 cups of water. Place the eggs in the pot and bring to a boil. Allow the eggs to boil for 15 minutes. While the eggs boil, cook the bacon until crispy and set aside. Add the eggs to ice water immediately after so they stop cooking. Peel the eggs. Cut each egg in half and remove the yolks to a small mixing bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork. Add in mayonnaise, yellow mustard, sweet relish and salt. Mix well. Chop the bacon into small pieces. Add the bacon to the yolk mixture and mix in. Using a piping bag or a zip-loc bag with a corner cut off, add the yolk mixture and pipe some into each egg white. Garnish with extra bacon.
How do you transport deviled eggs to a gathering?
I love this topic. Mainly because for a few years, I did not invest in an egg carrier which was a huge mistake. Taking my deviled eggs places was always an issue and they always ended up destroyed and all over the place. I now use an egg carrier and my deviled eggs reach their destination in the same condition as when they were made!
