This honey garlic ranch recipe requires 12 simple ingredients, many of which can be found in any kitchen and one bowl to mix, leaving you with minimal clean up. This sauce can be prepped ahead of time so that it is ready whenever you need it and is excellent to serve with chicken fingers, french fries or as a dressing on a salad.

This sauce is great to make for football Sunday game day to serve with a variety of fried appetizers and really get your taste buds going. It is also great to prepare for a weeknight dinner as a salad dressing for either a side salad or if you are serving it as a main dish. This can be a great salad dressing recipe for a home cook to make from home.

Ingredients
To make this recipe, mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, fresh dill, fresh parsley, and lemon juice are used which are the typical ingredients found in a homemade ranch. Honey and garlic are used to enhance the flavor and give the signature honey garlic flavoring.

Instructions

- Step 1: Chop fresh dill and parsley. In a small bowl, add mayonnaise, sour cream and buttermilk.

- Step 2: Add in dill, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, honey, fresh grated garlic and lemon juice.

- Step 3: Mix until combined.

- Step 4: Serve immediately or save for later.
Hint: use a microplane to grate the garlic. This is a simple way to get maximum flavor out of the garlic while also avoiding wasting any of the garlic clove like you do with a garlic crush.
Substitutions
- Buttermilk - can be replaced with whole milk if necessary
- Honey - use hot honey for a little added heat to the sauce
- Dairy Free - use oat milk or almond milk, vegan mayonnaise and vegan sour cream to make this recipe dairy free
- Salt - use sea salt or kosher salt instead of table salt
Variations
- Spicy - add hot sauce or hot honey to add a little heat to the sauce
- Southwest Ranch - add taco seasoning to make a southwest ranch recipe
- Bloomin Onion Sauce - use horseradish and few other additional ingredients to make a copycat bloomin onion sauce using the majority of these ingredients

Equipment
To make this recipe you will need a small bowl, microplane and a sharp knife and cutting board. You may also prefer to mix the sauce in a mason jar that can then also be used to store the leftover sauce.
How to Store Garlic Ranch
Store the leftover dressing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.
Top Tip
For a more mild garlic flavor, roast the garlic and mash prior to adding to the sauce. This will also add a little extra sweetness.

While fresh herbs are the best option, dried dill and dried parsley can be used. This will slightly alter the flavor of the sauce.
