How often do you go to a restaurant and have something so delicious that you can't stop thinking about it? Outback Steakhouse has a delicious blooming onion sauce that fits this category for me. I have tested this copycat recipe 10 times to get it perfect so that you only have to make it once to taste the signature flavor without trial and error. It has become my favorite dipping sauce for fried foods is ready in just 5 minutes start to finish saving you time to worry about making the foods you will be dipping into your sauce.

This sauce is perfect to pair with game day appetizers. I always have a day during football season where I fry a bunch of food and it is so nice having a sauce that goes well with everything so that I don't have to make multiple sauce and dirty multiple bowls. This sauce also pairs well with certain meats during the holidays like prime rib. If you want to get really creative, add it to a burger as a burger sauce during summer barbecues.
With a sauce this versatile, there is always a time and place for it. It is nice to find a sauce that is packed with flavor but also so easy to make, and I am going to walk you through just how easy it is.
This was inspired by my Copycat Buffalo Wild Wings Fried Pickle Sauce on this site, and pairs well with this Crispy Onion Chips.

- Sour Cream - replace with Greek yogurt or only use mayonnaise if sour cream is not available
- Oregano - replace dried oregano with fresh oregano for a fresher flavor
Variations
- Horseradish Sauce - this sauce is similar in flavor to a horseradish sauce and pairs well with a lot of the same foods
- Spicy - hot sauce or red pepper flakes to the sauce for an added kick
