As a fried pickle enthusiast, finding the perfect dipping sauce to pair with your pickle slices is very important. This copycat southwest ranch fried pickle sauce recipe is easily one of my favorite dipping sauce options to pair with my crispy, golden brown deep-fried pickles. This Buffalo Wild Wings copycat recipe is extremely close to the original and as someone who orders the fried pickles with the fried pickle sauce every time I go to Buffalo Wild Wings I am an expert in the topic.

This dipping sauce goes perfect with any of your favorite fried foods. This is one of the best copycat recipes to pair with fried pickles, especially on game days as an appetizer. When football Sunday rolls around, this dipping sauce always finds a way onto our table as a pairing to fried pickles, onion rings or fried shrimp and it takes our snack game to the next level. This sauce is also great to serve over the summer at summer barbecues for July 4th, Labor Day and Memorial Day barbecues. It is a great sauce to go with a fresh veggie tray during the warmer months or even at a holiday party.
This was inspired by my other creamy horseradish sauce on this site, and pairs well with these hand cut double fried french fries.

Substitutions
- Mayonnaise - swap out sour cream if mayonnaise is not available
- Ranch Seasoning - if you do not have ranch seasoning available, use ranch dressing. This will allow you to still get the flavor of the ranch in the dip which is one of the most important parts
- Milk - milk can be swapped out for buttermilk. Almond milk can also be used if a dairy free option is needed
Variations
- Plain Ranch - remove the spice and add some fresh herbs for a more classic ranch dressing flavor
- Chicken Fingers - serve with chicken fingers or on a crispy chicken sandwich

Frying the Pickles
To fry your own pickles, heat oil on the stove or in a deep fryer on medium high heat until the canola or vegetable oil reaches about 350 degrees. Dry the dill pickle chips with paper towels. Toss the pickles in flour, then coat with whisked up egg and then toss in bread crumbs. Fry the pickles until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the hot oil and drain on a wire rack in a single layer. You then will have the perfect fried pickles recipe to serve your sauce with!
Equipment
To make this recipe, use a small bowl and mixing spoon. Measuring cups and spoons will also be needed to measure out your ingredients.
Use a mason jar if you want to save on the amount of dishes you have to do after the sauce is made.
Storage
Store ingredients in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.
Top Tip
If frying pickles, make sure you pick your favorite pickle. I highly suggest a good dill pickle. You want good flavor in your pickle choice because that will compliment the sauce perfectly. Calling all pickle addicts, its time to bring your best pickles to the table!
FAQ
Yes, fried pickles can absolutely be made in the air fryer. To do this coat the pickle chips as you would if you were frying them and then air fry for 11-13 minutes at 390 degrees or until golden brown.
