Ingredients
To make the cheese ball part of this recipe, you will need cream cheese, fresh crab meat and soy sauce. The top of the cheese ball is covered with sweet Thai chili sauce to achieve the signature crab rangoon flavor. This recipe is best when served with crackers or wonton chips.

Instructions

- Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl, add softened cream cheese, crab meat and soy sauce.

- Step 2: Mix until combined.

- Step 3: Form cream cheese and crab mixture into a ball on a serving plate using either a bowl or your hands.

- Step 4: Pour sweet Thair chili sauce over the cheese ball until covered. Serve immediately with your favorite crackers or wonton chips or save for later.
Hint: to soften the cream cheese, leave it out on the counter about 20 minutes until room temperature prior to using. If you forget to put it out on the counter, place it on a microwave safe plate and microwave about 20 seconds prior to using.
Substitutions
- Cream Cheese - for a dairy free option use a vegan cream cheese. Reduced-fat cream cheese can also be used if preferred
- Crab - if you do not have access to fresh crab imitation crab can be used
- Sweet Thai Chili Sauce - can be replaced with sweet and sour sauce for a similar flavor
- Soy Sauce - can be evenly swapped out with Worcestershire sauce

How to Store Crab Cheese Ball
Store the leftover crab cheese ball covered with plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the fridge. Good for 2-3 days.
These don't stand up well to freezing.
Top Tip
Quickly fry some wonton wrappers for a fresh wonton chip to use as a dipper for this crab cheese ball. After heating up the oil, add the wonton wrappers in and fry for about 15 seconds on each side.
