Instructions

- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice the top of two heads of garlic off. Place each had of garlic in a bed of aluminum foil. Drizzle olive oil over each head of garlic and add salt and pepper. Wrap garlic in aluminum foil and bake 40-45 minutes until garlic is roasted and slightly golden brown.

- Step 2: Slice French baguette. Coat both sides of bread slices with a drizzle of olive oil. Bake about 15 minutes or until baguette is lightly toasted.

- Step 3: Add softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, shredded mozzarella, raw garlic, and roasted garlic to a medium mixing bowl. Mix until combined. Add garlic powder, salt, pepper and fresh parsley. Mix until combined. Transfer dip to a baking dish.

- Step 4: Bake garlic bread dip for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown on top and bubbling. Remove from oven. Serve immediately with crusty bread or save for later.
Hint: to soften cream cheese, leave it out on the counter about 20 minutes before use. If you forget to leave it out, microwave the unwrapped bar of cream cheese on a microwave safe plate for about 20-30 seconds until softened.

Equipment
To make this recipe, you will need a small or medium baking dish, a baking sheet, medium mixing bowl, measuring cups and spoons and a rubber spatula. Aluminum foil and a sharp knife and cutting board are also needed for the process of roasting the garlic. A garlic press or microplane is used to grate the fresh garlic.
If you are shredding your own mozzarella cheese, a cheese grater is needed.
How to Store Garlic Bread Dip
Store the leftover dip in an airtight container or in the baking dish covered with aluminum foil in the fridge. Good for 3-5 days. Reheat leftovers in the oven or the microwave prior to serving.
These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.
Top Tip
Do not use pre-shredded mozzarella. There is a film on pre-shredded cheese that is used to help preserve it which prevents the cheese from melting evenly. For best results, it is best to shred the mozzarella cheese yourself.
