Who doesn't love a good french fry, am I right? As a kid, I loved french fries, specifically from McDonald's. If you just add salt to these, I must admit, they're pretty close to it! Slightly soft on the inside but crisp and crunchy on the outside. These fries are not only easy to make, but also absolutely delicious!

Ingredient Substitutions:
The Seasonings:
The cool thing about french fries like this is that you can totally change the flavor profile just by changing up the seasonings. We did a mix of garlic powder, salt and pepper. I also personally love a classic plain salt on my fries. You can get super bold and add some Old Bay for a really good kick!
The Oil:
The make these fries, I used canola oil. For the best results, I do suggest peanut oil but it can get a little pricey. Canola oil is perfectly fine though if you do not want to spend the money on peanut oil or if you can't find it. I also have used vegetable oil in the past. For the best quality though, I do suggest canola or peanut oil.
FAQ's
Do you have to double fry the fries?
No, but they get a nice extra crisp when you do this so I always prefer this method. You can choose to fry them all once at about 350 degrees until the ends start to brown.
Is it necessary to soak the fries in water?
Yes, this step is absolutely necessary. The best would be to actually soak them overnight! It helps to remove the extra starch and gives an extra crispness to the fries.
