Honey Sriracha Blue Cheese Burger with Frizzled Onions. Juicy, tender, grilled burgers topped with crumbled blue cheese, frizzled onions, sitting between a toasted brioche bun slathered in honey sriracha sauce. This is the burger of all burgers. Heart, tangy, spicy yet sweet. The flavor profile in this recipe is absolutely incredible.
I love burgers. Hands down love them. It is by far my favorite food to grill and I love that you start with a patty and then by adding different combinations of ingredients, you can get a totally different burger every single time. And let's be honest, there is nothing better than standing out back on a warm summer's day by the grill with the smell of freshly charred burgers wafting you in the face.
I will say, over time I have really changed my burger making techniques. I used to be so set in my ways and only made them one way. Over time, I am learning there are so many different ways to make a cook the patty that results in different textures, flavors, etc.
Ingredients:
- ground beef
- blue cheese crumbles
- Sriracha sauce
- honey
- crispy fried onions
- ice burg lettuce
- brioche bun
- mayonnaise
- salt and pepper
Kitchen Appliances:
- Grill
The Steps:
Pack the ground beef into equal sized burgers. From one pound, you should be able to get 6-8 burgers. Season both sides of the patty with salt and pepper. Cook your burgers on medium heat on the grill for about 3 minutes. After three minutes quarter turn your burger. Once another three minutes passes, flip the burger and repeat. After quarter turning the burger once flipped, add blue cheese crumbles to the top of each patty.
Coat both sides of the brioche bun with mayonnaise. Place either on a flattop, griddle or on the top rack of the grill to toast. This will take about 3-5 minutes but keep a close eye on it just in case. Mix together honey and sriracha. To build your burger, spread some honey sriracha sauce on both buns. Place a layer of lettuce on the bottom bun. Add the burger and top with some extra blue cheese if desired. Add the crispy fried onions and top with the top bun. Serve immediately.
Do you have to toast the bun?
Nope! You do not have to by any means! But it does add an extra layer of flavor if you ask me. I also love a little crisp paired with the fluffy bun.
Can I use freshly fried onions?
Absolutely! This will add even more flavor! If you have the extra time, I suggest trying it out! If you are looking for a quick weeknight recipe or are making it for a crowd the pre packed fried onions still add a ton of delicious flavor and crisp.
