Ingredients
The base of this delicious sliders recipe is sweet Hawaiian rolls. Rotisserie chicken is used in this recipe so the process of cooking the chicken can be skipped. The chicken is tossed in your favorite bbq sauce and then layered on the slider rolls with cheddar cheese and coleslaw mix for texture.
The tops of the rolls are then based with melted butter and garlic for extra flavor and to help achieve the perfect golden brown color on top.

- sweet Hawaiian slider rolls

See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions

- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice slider rolls in half. Shred rotisserie chicken. Mix pulled chicken with barbecue sauce. Shred cheddar cheese.

- Step 2: Spread barbecue sauce on the bottom half of the sliders. Spread half of the cheddar cheese over the barbecue sauce. Spread chicken over layer of cheese in an even layer. Spread second half of cheddar cheese over chicken. Spread coleslaw mix over later of cheese.

- Step 3: Place top half of the rolls over the coleslaw mix. Melt butter and add crushed garlic. Baste garlic butter on top of rolls.

- Step 4: Cover rolls with aluminum foil. Bake 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve sliders immediately or save for later.
Hint: use a block of cheese and shred with a cheese grater to assure you get a melty cheese result. Using cheese that is pre-shredded will cause the cheese to not melt evenly. Pre-shredded cheese has a film on it that prevents it from melting evenly.
Substitutions
- Coleslaw - instead of a coleslaw mix, you can use ice berg lettuce

Equipment
This bbq chicken slider recipe is baked in a medium casserole dish. A medium bowl is also needed to mix the chicken with the barbecue sauce.
A small bowl is needed to melt the butter in. Lastly, a basting brush is needed to baste the butter onto the slider rolls.
How to Store Shredded Chicken BBQ Sliders
Store the leftover barbecue chicken sliders in the fridge in an airtight container. Good for 2-3 days. Reheat leftover sliders prior to serving.
These easy chicken sliders do stand up well to freezing for up to 2 months.
Top Tip
Cover the slider rolls prior to baking to keep the slider rolls from getting too crisp and toasted. Covering the rolls is the perfect way to keep the sliders soft while heating up the chicken and melting the cheese.
