Tangy and Sweet Amish Style Macaroni Salad. Creamy, tangy yet sweet mayo mixture with elbow noodles mixed in and fresh, crunchy carrots and celery. This is the ultimate barbecue side dish and is perfect to serve to guests for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day parties. I love a good summer macaroni salad, and let me tell you, this is the one. It is so refreshing and delicious. You better act quick before it's all gone!
Macaroni salads are the best. Hands down. They are a staple, in my opinion, for any and all barbecues. Barbecues have always been my thing. I thrive during the summer months and can't get enough of the food, the drinks, the hot dogs, and, you guessed it, the macaroni salad.
We have been having barbecues for every summer holiday since I was a kid. I love that it is a time to all get together while the weather is nice. One thing I love about living in Pennsylvania is the change of seasons. Each comes with a special set of family get togethers, menus, etc.
- elbow pasta
- sour cream
- yellow mustard

Boil pasta according to the directions on the box and strain. Set aside. Dice celery and carrots. In a bowl, mix macaroni, mayonnaise, sour cream, celery, carrots, yellow mustard, mustard powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and parsley flakes. Chill before serving.
Can I use a different kind of pasta?
Yes! You definitely can! But, at the same time, macaroni salad usually uses macaroni salad so i do still suggest using elbows!
