Equipment
To make this easy pepperoni pizza dip recipe, you will need a medium or small baking dish or pie plate to assemble and bake the dip in. You will also need a sharp knife and cutting board to slice the bread as well as a cheese grater to grate the mozzarella. A rubber spatula is also helpful to spread the ingredients evenly through the baking dish to assure even layer for an extra creamy dip.
How to Store Pepperoni Pizza Dip
Store the leftover hot pepperoni pizza dip recipe in an airtight container once the dip is at room temperature or in the baking dish it was served in covered with aluminum foil in the fridge. Good for 3-4 days. Reheat dip in the microwave in a microwave safe container or in the oven in the same baking dish prior to serving leftovers.
These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.
Top Tip
Instead of buying pre-shredded mozzarella cheese, buy block mozzarella cheese and shred it yourself. When you purchase pre-shredded cheese from the grocery store, the cheese comes with a preservative film on it which prevents the cheese from melting evenly. Shredding the cheese on your own avoids the preservative film and your cheese will melt quicker and more evenly for an ooey-gooey cheese layer.
FAQ
Yes, you can layer the dip in your baking dish and refrigerate it for several hours before baking. Just add the hot honey drizzle over the hot pizza dip right before serving.
Crusty breads like French baguette, sourdough, bagel chips, corn chips or even breadsticks work wonderfully to scoop up the dip without becoming soggy too fast.
Serve with gluten-free crackers, tortilla chips, or veggie sticks like celery and carrot to keep it gluten-free and equally delicious.
